This class is taught by one of Elliot Hospital’s nurses and is designed to prepare expectant parents on how to care for and feed their newborn during the first six weeks of life. Topics covered include: normal newborn procedures and tests, infant bathing, diapering, skin care, dressing, proper car seat use, safe sleep, choosing a healthcare provider and symptoms to report.
*PLEASE NOTE: Face masks are not required within the hospital at this time but are recommended. There will a scheduled break in the middle of class. Note that the hospital cafeteria closes at 7pm, so plan to purchase food prior to class if you’d like. You are welcome to bring your own food/drinks but we do not have a refrigerator available to use. A single registration includes attendance of a support person.
This class will take place at Elliot Hospital’s main campus. We kindly ask that you present to the main entrance a few minutes prior to the scheduled start of class.
