This class is taught by our certified childbirth educators who are also nurses within the Elliot Hospital Maternity Center. It is designed to help our patients prepare for their childbirth experience, and support partners prepare for their crucial role. Topics covered include: 3rd trimester pregnancy changes, the birth process, coping strategies for labor (including positioning, relaxation strategies, breathing patterns and pain medication options), cesarean delivery and early postpartum care.
*PLEASE NOTE: This is a 2-session class, with 3 hour sessions hosted on BOTH Monday 12/2/2024 AND Monday 12/9/2024. In order to get the full information and class experience you must plan to attend both sessions.
Face masks are not required within the hospital at this time but are recommended. Please note that the hospital cafeteria closes at 7pm, so plan to purchase food prior to class if you’d like. You are welcome to bring your own food/drinks but we do not have a refrigerator available to use. This class will include a tour of our Labor and Delivery and Maternity units. A single registration includes attendance of a support person.
This class will take place at Elliot Hospital’s main campus. We kindly ask that you present to the main entrance a few minutes prior to the scheduled start of class.
